FOOD BANK

The Northwest Ecumenical Foodbank is supported by Audubon Park UMC, Driscoll Blvd. Baptist, the Friends, and Garland Alliance churches.  It serves persons in the 99205, 99208, and 99026 zip codes.

The Food Bank and is open on the second and last Tuesdays of each month from 9:30 - 12:30.

Food comes from donations and from Second Harvest.  The Food Bank welcomes donations of food or money from the northwest neighborhood.  It serves about 60 families, 275 people, and 6,000 pounds of food every month.

Volunteers are always welcome, whether they are from the churches or from the community.  On Monday mornings the food arrives from Second Harvest and client bags are packed.  Volunteers arrive at 9 a.m. Tuesday to prepare for clients.

Contact Jennifer Ash through the church office apumc@earthlink.net or 325-4541 to volunteer.  This Food Bank is connected with the larger Second Harvest Food Bank.  To access their website, please go to www.2-harvest.org.

Food Bank Needs
Any canned or boxed food is always welcome.  These are the "emphasis" foods.
June               Pasta sauce/pasta
July               Vegetables
August           Fruit

The emphasis food for July is vegetables.

If you have extra produce we can use it.  Please bring it in the first or the last Sunday or Monday of the month.

We also need paper sacks desperately.

Thank you-
